Propaganda & Mass Persuasion

i definitely think the news coverage in Iraq is somewhat untrue. i believe they either try to make it look really bad in order to keep support and faith in the war. it is obvious that Bush won't pull troops out b/c he likes to keep things going. the media coverage doesnt always show the true pain and struggle that the citizens are enduring due to our occupation. No wonder why we are so hated.

Yeah, all the rounding up of government opposition and public execution has got to stop. Someone should do something about the kidnapping and false imprisonment of people who don't support the regime too. Oh yeah, and the license given to regime soldiers to rape and piliage small settlements. Our soldiers are definately causing a lot of suffering.

Let's try to start with a fact or two and proceed from there rather than making broad statements that diminish the complexity of the situation. It is possible to criticize the administration and the media without ignoring the horrors perpetrated by the enemy. Their atrocities don't justify superficial coverage of the war in Iraq.

Sure, you can do it; but is it done? I find it interesting that liberals feel the mainstream media is covering things up for Bush and that conservatives feel the media is biased against Bush. Who is right? What is the real agenda? This is not politics this is ideology. Could things be going better over there? Sure. But, are the Iraqi people better off than they were under the rule of an evil despot? Duh.

By the way, superficial coverage of anything is all you are going to get as long as American Idol is the #1 show on television.
